Intro Replacement

From 6/25/2011 - 7/29/2011, I will be participating in a study abroad program along with 17 other students through the University Of California, San Diego. The Global Seminar: Public Health in Amman, Jordan is a 5 week program that highlights “...basic aspects of population and public health and methods used to assess health in the population. This will be coupled with a clinical hands-on experience in dealing with these same issues in refugee populations in a less developed country and how the health system and non-governmental agencies deal with the health aspects of such refugee populations” (UCSD International Center).   The program is taught by Professor Wael Al-Delaimy, who is the Chief of Global Health in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the UCSD School of Medicine.  Join me as I study global health and epidemiology in Amman, Jordan!

I would like to thank the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program for partially funding my study abroad experience, my husband Tuan and son Devlin for being very supportive, and to all my blog readers for allowing me to share my experience with you.  THANK YOU!  Please feel free to leave comments and/or questions, or contact me at
